The Emerald Tablet is a long-forgotten ancient artifact whose whereabouts are unknown. It can contain a recipe for making the philosopher’s stone, which can turn metals into gold, as well as the foundation of Hermetic Philosophy.
It may even stand for the spiritual equivalent, purifying the spirit. Arabic translations of its text made it known to the Christian world after the fourteenth century.
The physical Emerald Tablet was represented as a rectangular work of art with its holy message cut out in a Phoenician-style alphabet in bas-relief.
The ancients valued emerald, and this tablet is said to be made of it. Since big quality emeralds from the ancient world (if it was from the old world or even from Earth) are impossible to appear, and because there is debate about what was and wasn’t considered an emerald in the old world, it’s more possible that it was a green stone like jasper or jade. It may have only been a shard of green glass.
The Emerald Tablet’s writings are widely considered to be one of the oldest extant Western alchemical books, with pre-Greek sources. In mystical circles, it is still common among modern-day alchemists. The writings are believed to be from the Hermetic Tradition, a branch of Hellenistic Gnosticism that is not Christian.
The Arabs referred to alchemy as the Hermetic practice. Hermetic works is divided into two categories: philosophical and alchemical/magical writings. The majority of these texts (the Corpus Hermeticum), like many other texts from this time period, were lost somehow, and no one knew how many there were.
It’s impossible to trace the Emerald Tablet’s origins. Hermes, the god’s messenger and lord of magicians, handed down its magical or divine secrets directly to the people.
Hermes Trismegistus, to be precise, is a Hellenistic Egyptian deity who combines Hermes the Greek god and Thoth the Egyptian god. The Greeks in Egypt at the time mistook Hermes for Thoth. They are similar in many ways, but there are some differences, and some Greeks declined to acknowledge this god’s version.
Both gods taught man not to do something and became gods of wisdom, knowledge, sorcery, and the afterlife. These gods’ history and mythology can be dated back 10,000 years and beyond in the far past. The tales and probable sources of the tablet they/he created vanish with them. The chance that it’s a surviving strand of ancient knowledge, on the other hand, is fascinating.
According to legend, the tablet was uncovered in Sri Lanka’s Ark of the Covenant, hidden in Alexander the Great’s Great Pyramid, and later discovered and hidden in other Middle Eastern caves.
But what do we really know about the text? Sections or translations of the Bible have been translated into English from Arabic, Latin, Chaldean, and Phoenician by famous persons such as Isaac Newton and Madame Blavatsky.
It encapsulates the essence of alchemy, namely, that understanding the vital yet enigmatic bond between earthly and celestial things allows one to gain access to life’s profound truths.
Diane Morgan’s book, From Satan’s Crown to the Holy Grail: Emeralds in Myth, Magic, and History, is adapted here. It is certain, unmistakably so, and real beyond a shadow of a doubt.
What is below is like what is above, and what is above is like what is below, for the One Thing’s wonders to succeed. And, just as everything in life stems from that One, everything in existence is modified from It, due to that One’s meditation.
Its father is the Sun. Its mother is the Moon. It would be able to hold the breeze in its belly. Its adoptive mother is the Earth. This is the mastermind behind all of the world’s mastered creations. Its power is fully realized when it is merged with the Earth. You will delicately distinguish the Earth from the Fire, the Subtle from the Heavy, with great genius.
It passes from Earth to Heaven, and returns to Earth, receiving energy from both below and above. As a consequence, you will own all of the glory of the universe. As a consequence, you will be free of all darkness. This is the most strong of all abilities, capable of conquering all nuances and penetrating all solids.
As a consequence, the universe is formed. Here are several miracles that have been opened, along with instructions about how to do so. As a consequence, I’m known as Hermes Trismegistus, the philosopher who owns three fragments of the world’s philosophy.
Anything I’ve said about the Solis operation has now been said. More works by Thoth/Hermes, according to legend, are locked in a dark library, waiting to be found.
This concept has a long history, stretching back to the ancient Egyptians’ quest for Thoth’s works. In the early Christian century, Clement of Alexandria wrote about it. He said that 42 holy books have been hidden before humanity is capable of reading them.
